12 Productive Ways To Spend Your Spring Days | Collab w/CharisRae

LIFE TIPS / HACKS, wellness
Hey everyone! I hope you are having a splendid April so far! It’s hard to believe that it’s been 3 months since 2018 started. In light of the spring season, I’m collaborating with Charis on this spring-themed post – we’re sharing with you 12 productive ways to spending your spring days. Be sure to head over to her blog to read the other 6 ideas!

Charis is an amazing blogger who publishes great content – if you don’t know her already, go check her blog out! She is so sweet and I always look forward to reading her posts πŸ™‚
I know I’m super excited for you to read this post, so let’s start!

#1: Music Video| Do you have some musical friends who love to sing or play instruments? Gather them up and create a home filmed music video!
Find a place to film the video (a park, a forest, a playground, you name it!) You don’t need fancy equipment to do this – it can all be done on a phone or tablet!
Even if it doesn’t turn out good or you mess up, it’ll be a fun thing to look back on with our family and friends when you grow up…. or the next day.

#2: Take a Class | Ever wanted to learn a new skill? Around this time of year, there are many tutorial classes you can take. Here are a few that come to mind: baking, cake decorating, photography, painting, clay sculpture making, dancing, and film-making.Β Learning a new skill will definitely last you a lifetime!
Look up classes in your area and sign up for one. They usually are pretty cheap, and you can find one that’s an evening or one-afternoon class.
Double the fun by taking a course with a friend!

#3: Start a Business | Starting a business is so much fun! Plus, we all need a little extra money, right? If you’re into food and baking, try selling your goods at a local Farmer’s Market. Love animals? Pet sitting or dog-walking is a great option.
Like the smell of fresh blooms? Flower watering for neighbors while they’re away is a great way to earn easy money! This job can last you through to late August.
Design some business cards at Vistaprint or make your own cards and flyers.

#4: Play a Sport | What better time than spring to pick up a sport? You’ll have fun, make friends, and – most importantly – stay active. Try signing up for a sport that you’ve never played before!
If you have siblings or friends, ask them to join you. Having someone there you know is always a good idea!

#5: Journal | Have you ever heard the saying, “Printed photos are memories preserved?” It’s so true! Having physical photos you can look at without staring at a screen is a great thing.
Buy a new blank-page journal; or, using one you already have, journal fun events you’ve done over the spring. Add pictures, stickers, and quotes for a memory book that you can have as a keepsake to look back on.

#6: Explore | Your city may feel boring and old…”There’s nothing to do here!” you may be telling yourself. I know, I feel the same way. However, I’m sure there are places you’ve never been to before – cafes, coffee shops, boutiques, and thrift stores.
Explore what your city has to offer, wether it be right downtown or in the next neighbourhood, have fun finding new things!
Drive, take a walk, or ride your bike downtown… don’t forget to bring your camera to document your adventures. Make it a day by bringing a friend and doing a photo-shoot.

  1. Spring gives me hope–hope that baseball will be coming soon! (Go, Cubs!)
I really liked these ideas! Do you play any sports, Rebecca?

    1. Yes! Spring is a season of hope after winter. Thanks, Anna! Last year I played Ultimate Frisbee, which I might do again – plus our family is helping organize a soccer league, so I’ll be playing there. How about you?

      1. Frisbee, huh? That sounds like fun! I’m Looking forward to playing softball in May (it’s still cold here)! I’m just itching to put on some catcher’s gear! πŸ˜€

  2. Awesome ideas! I live in a very small town so it often seems like there is nothing to do, but in reality maybe I just don’t know how to do the many things there is to do (if that makes any sense) XD

  3. I LOVED this post, Rebecca! When I saw a collab with you and Charis in my reader, I got hella excited. You two are some of my favorite bloggers out there, and I was so happy to see that you were working together.

My favorite tip in this post was exploring your area. I live in a really wonderful place to take walks, and sometimes I forget that. I was super pumped up to take one after reading this. ❀

I can't wait for your next post. This one was amazing and I hope to see more like it in the future! :))

    1. Thank you so, so much, Liv!

I totally agree. Our city recently put up some amazing bridges and “made” some trails, so last summer (and hopefully this one too) we’ll get to go out there and bike/walk/run/etc. πŸ˜›

Have an amazing day, dear ❀

  4. It took moving away (and then returning) to my home city for me to realize the amazing adventure right at my finger tips. Now, I still tend to stay in and eat at home rather going out for a night on the town (bookworm, here), but I love my home city so much more for all the adventures it can offer. And now, I can actually give a halfways decent tour!
