Embracing Joy in Everyday Life

Let’s state the obvious. Finding joy in everyday life is definitely not easy. There are many things that cause us to have a bad attitude about our lives and the situations we are in and go through. But living in those kind of attitudes and moods is not where God wants us to be. He wants us to live joyfully.

In this post, I’m going to share with you how to find, embrace, pursue, and radiate joyfulness in your life. Ready? Let’s go.

find joy

Finding joy is not a hard thing to do. Even though you may feel like your life is not in a place to be joyful for, it is. Find joy in the little, simple things. At the end of the day, write down something that made you smile- something that made you feel happy – something that made you feel joyful.

embrace joy

Finding joy is one thing, embracing it is another. You have to be willing to push away the mindset of depression and allow joy to fill the space. You have to want to be joyful. It won’t always come easily. Make it a priority to have a joyful mindset. When something doesn’t turn out, see the joy in that situation. Look through the lens of happiness, and not sadness.

pursue joy

To embrace joy, you need to pursue joy. Don’t forget about being joyful. Keep it in the front of your mind. Don’t hide it. Pursue it, look for it. Whether it be a sweet moment with your family, or a hilarious laugh with your friends – find pursue it. Make it happen. Maybe baking makes you joyful. Or art. Or music. Or friends. Whatever it may be, make the effort to pursue joy.

radiate joy

Radiate joy to those who aren’t feeling it. Put a smile on your face. Joyfulness is contagious! Make an effort to make someones’ day. Send them a Bible verse, a favorite quote, a funny meme, or something that will make them smile. Even if it’s something small, it’ll make their day. Radiating joy is something you can do that will not only make others joyful, but will make you joyful too. Try it, it’s worth the (minimal) effort!

  3. I love your new header, Rebecca! So. Pretty. *heart eyes* Finding joy in the little things is so important. One of the main things that brings me joy is the sky. It is truly beautiful. And of course my family. I love them to pieces ❤

I’m actually starting my two-week study plan today after school. I’m excited to implement it and nervous to actually use it 😬!

Thanks for helping us see the joy in today, Rebecca. Your blog is always so sweet and inspiring…a contrast to my loud personality. (I’ve used 5 exclamation points in a single sentence before. 5!)
