Today’s post is all about living a healthier lifestyle.¬†ūüć鬆Now, don’t go running away…this isn’t going to be a rant about how you should be going to the gym 24/7 to work on your abs and drinking 10 gallons of water a day. Instead, it’s going to be me sharing 4 concise, simple steps you can make towards living a healthier lifestyle.

Food for Thought | Summer Edition




It’s a hot summer day, and that means two things.¬†

The heat is becoming unbearable, and your hunger levels are soaring. Let’s solve that issue by exploring some super yummy treats you can make this summer to pull out of the freezer and devour immediately! (I mean, hey. You have to splurge on¬†something this summer!)

Berry Yogurt Popsicles¬†Let’s talk about these for a minute. Fresh fruit + yogurt = yumminess, right? It also equals lots of good stuff for your body, too. Fresh berries are some of the most powerful disease fighting foods, because they are high in vitamin C and antioxidants. Well, would you look at that! In two sentences, we just found out that this treat not only tastes good – but it actually gives us some great nutrients, too!

No-Bake Ice-cream Cake¬†¬†The recipe description for this treat explains it perfectly… “layers of ice cream, homemade whipped cream, vanilla ice cream sandwiches, Oreo cookies, and hot fudge come together in this extraordinary cake”. ‘Nuff said.

Confetti Ice-Cream Pops Who doesn’t love confetti? How about confetti AND ice-cream? What could be better?! As the recipe says “beneath the confetti-candy covering of these ice cream pops lies a marvelous surprise: a soft-in-the-center miniature candy bar on a popsicle stick.” Sounds pretty good, huh?

No-Bake Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bars¬†Let us take a moment of silence for cookie dough *crickets* Okay, okay. Now let’s talk about these treats. The soft gooey goodness of cookie dough combined with chocolate chips sounds amazing, right? And the bonus is, the cookie dough is actually safe to eat! They have all the flavor of real cookie dough without actually using it. Mind-blown, I know.

No-Bake S’mores Cheesecake¬†Of course we can’t forget about s’mores. But wait. I’m not talking about the classic campfire treats. I’m talking about s’mores in a cheesecake. Okay, now who couldn’t resist that?!

Banana Split Kabobs¬†You all know what kabobs are. But fruit kabobs? Now we’re talkin’. All you have to do is stick some ingredients on a stick, and thereby go. A perfect summer treat to enjoy every day of the summer. Well, maybe not EVERY day…

Raspberry Cheesecake Ice-Cream¬†Ice-Cream. Possibly the most well-known treat on the planet. Add raspberries and cheesecake, and you’ve got one of the yummiest foods ever.

All these treats sound so good to eat, and I am looking forward to (hopefully) trying to make at least one of these this summer!
